A Few Words From Tod

 

I love the challenge of being a Realtor and the father of four great little kids. My triplets, Erik, Annika and Ainsley are all now nine and are enjoying grade three while my six year old Tessa is trying hard to be nine years old. I think my wife Elke would say the real challenge is being married to a Realtor and having four little kids. I truly could not be successful in this career without Elke's support. Fortunately, I was a Realtor when Elke met me, so she was familiar with the long hours that included evening and weekend work.

 

Elke and I have been fortunate to travel together. Some of our most recent trips have included Royal LePage conventions through out Canada. A great team effort over the last few years earned us a top 100 standing out of 14,000 Royal LePage agents in Canada and an invite to the Chairman's Club Conventions. We enjoyed the chairman's trips and the chance to discuss real estate in Canada with some of the countries best realtors. The convention trips are more of a short reward, while our true passion has been our backpacking trips in Asia, Africa, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I find that buyers are totally shocked when I tell them that I have been to their home town in the Philippines or Nigeria. Backpacking really allows you a better chance to understand the local people and culture.

 

Most of the time, however, I stay much closer to home and really enjoy the rare times I get to escape for some fishing or skiing.

 

I do make a point of having an appointment twice a week to play pick up hockey. I love the game, the exercise, and the camaraderie. All work and no play makes for a dull Realtor.

 

We have always been a handy family. Troy spent years in construction before joining me in real estate. We have renovated many homes together. In 2007, Elke and I did a major renovation, turning our bungalow into a two storey so all the kids would have their own rooms. Nothing educates you like doing something for yourself. I think it is great to have construction experience you can share with clients when you are in this line of work.

 

I am truly thankful for my family, my great group of associates and very supportive past clients and friends. I guarantee that buying or selling, real estate with us will be a positive experience.
